Hey!
I love that I am learning about Jazz from YOU! It is basically in ALL music, but I have never really took it on, studied. I love all the jazz you put on FFR and the commentary. And hey, is it just me or does it seem like there really just aren’t any more female hip hop artists really puttin down like Salt n Pepper?
I could just be out of the loop, What do you think?
First, I am extremely happy that I can contribute to your Jazz education! This is a prime reason this show exists. You can rest assured that much more Jazz will follow. In regards to the female MC’s, I’d say “yes and no”: there are a number of female MC’s out there, but IMO, NONE of them are putting it down like Salt-N-Pepa, Latifah and MC Lyte did.
The first 3 songs bring the heat. I have “Runaway Slave” and will break out that old vinyl tomorrow!
I went and bought the Ekayani track. It will make my 2010 summer CD!

That’s cool, Sean! Ekayani’s album is really nice. Yep that 1st set was hot. Like I said on the show, sometimes tracks just “go together” well.
